Lottery Winner Wanted: Unusual Mystery Advert Seeks $942,000 Ticket Holder

The ad that National Lottery placed in the job pages looking for a winning ticket holder and their unclaimed ticket.

Sometimes lottery companies can get very creative in the search for unclaimed tickets.

Camelot Group, the company that runs the UK National Lottery and Euromillions, placed this ad when no-one turned up to claim the £612,749 ((US$942,000) prize.

The ticket was bought in Newport, South Wales, in August 2011, but the £612,749 prize was never claimed.

Prizes are unclaimed round the world, and lotteries take novel approaches to find the winner, like this USA Powerball banner outside the Circle K store where it was bought September 2014.

The deadline for the 'position' was 5.30pm on February 6 the following year when the lottery ticket would run out because six-months will have lapsed.

A National Lottery spokesman said: 'It is very rare for these prizes to go unclaimed, but someone in this area has still not come forward."

The winning numbers on the ticket were 2,4, 7, 27, 43 and 44. It appears not to have been claimed.
